Set in woodsy Hope Ranch, this home was renovated to suit a client who requested a modern loft-style design that would draw on the natural appeal of the surrounding landscape.
We gutted the entire lower level, revealing heavy wood beams that we stained a rich coffee color. A wall was covered with outdoor plaster-- tinted concrete gray to create impact, and rough stacked stone was added for texture and warmth. Open shelving made from reclaimed wood, and long plank floors were installed to enhance the open feeling of the newly appointed kitchen and great room.
The bathroom was updated with tile set in a modern stack, while new lighting and a state-of-the art sound system was added for ambiance.
A custom forged steel railing was installed last-- bringing a final lofty vibe into the space. Furnishings-- including a sectional with pillows sewn from vintage African fabrics, and accessories in wood, glass and stone-- added a rustic, yet polished finish, and a final sense of home.
